A new retail store development for Aldi Stores Limited as part of their continuing UK growth plan.
The new building is a single storey store, of steel frame and beam structure. The site is within close proximity to a neighbouring housing estate, and serves the South East side of Coventry.
The store was to be developed by a separate contractor, with works to be completed to Aldi’s standard specification. A separate contract was then adopted for the fitout works post completion and handover by the initial developer. This approach differs from many projects where all works are controlled by a single main contractor.
The two contracts were standalone with no overlaps, this provided the most efficient working environment as one party was not impeding the other. The fit out was undertaken to the client’s corporate standard ensuring consistency across their portfolio.
